One Day… At a time

Friday September 16:

My second day of teaching went just as fast; the last class of today is on a higher level of English speaking skills. They were able to have a fairly decent conversation. It sort of went like this (in the same order) “teacher, are you married?” no. “teacher, do you have boyfriend?” no. “teacher, do you have kids?” no. “teacher, do you live alone?” yes. “ohhhhhhhh” -insert 8 pitiful looks here- “teacher, you’re nice.” (awwwww)  Friday night I went to hang out with Nadia and Liz and a new friend Lydia from England… We made cookies!!!! 🙂 Lydia and I are going to a fabric market in Busan on Saturday!

 Sunday September 18:

Today I went to an English speaking  church with Nadia in Changwon, a 20 minute bus ride. After church we had bible study then came home. It was a lovely day and really nice to meet some other people in the area.  It’s hard for me to describe, but during the study as people spoke about requests and praises, Nadia had a praise. She had been praying for someone to come to Jangyu who loved Jesus, and that He had sent me.. it’s amazing how He plans things out and placed me in this community of good people… People who want to help and want to grow and encourage. I truly am so blessed to have been put in this group. I had prayed for a similar situation and what has been given has overflowed any expectation I could have had.  I keep reminding myself I haven’t even had a full week of teaching yet, and have barely been in SK over a week and I feel like a different person. I’m seeing myself in a different light and opening myself to ideas for my future that I didn’t think I wanted before…I can’t even imagine what else is in store and I’m so lucky to have friends in my life that remind me to take one day at a time and not rush through life. 🙂
